I wish I was there to have seen a contemporary benshi. My companion, Lumena, still talks about how much she loved seeing Show People two years ago.
Thanks, all. Rob and Peter, you were definitely missed this weekend. To be clear, there was no benshi performance this year, though I can understand why my convoluted prose in my other post gave off that impression. There was, however, another Marion Davies comedy, the Patsy, which was a terrific way to close out the weekend.
