Brian: Looking forward to hearing what you think (You'll even get to listen to some of Prokofiev from Nevsky) This had a big impact on my generation especially the younger ones looking for a less stodgy, stiff depiction of Christ than those we'd been exposed to in say Ben Hur or the versions of King Of Kings, when it was released in the U.S. in 1966.
ReplyDeleteIt had a big impact on me last month too. I expect to say more soon enough; the likelihood that it makes my ten-best list for 2013 repertory is very high.
